Lhamo's 12 vows :
Lhamo watched many many Dharmas in Youtube in 2016 (a year of awakening) and many Si Fus advised people to make vows and so since 2016 I had made so far...... 12 vows.
They are -
1) May 2016 - mum was quite sick and went for a 8 hour operation. Lhamo made a vow in front of Buddha that Lhamo will from today onwards go full vegetarian for the rest of her life for 3 wishes one of which was for mother's good health.
2) 21 May 2017 - Made a vow that should Lhamo passed on was to go to Amitabha Pure Land.
3) That whoever saw Lhamo photo and Lhamo name can invoke compassion and feel very, very happy.
4) 30 May 2017 - Lhamo made the 4 Great Vows in First Centre, office. They are :
a) Lhamo will liberate innumerable sentient beings
b) Lhamo will eliminate endless afflictions
c) Lhamo will master innumerable approaches to Dharma
d) Lhamo will obtain the unexcelled enlightenment of a Buddha
8) 23 August 2017 - That Lhamo will never be away from Dharma.
9) 27 August 2017 - That Lhamo vows to have no sexual misconduct.
10) That Lhamo vows to have no killing for her food.
11) That Lhamo vows to stop telling lies.
12) That Lhamo vows to stop stealing.
Vows are done simply for the sake of creating merits so as to eliminate all past negative karma done since beginesstime.
With the vows kept honestly every day and every week the merits created are a lot, a lot. Would you like to do them too ?
With these vows in place, meditation becomes much easier and lesser scattered thoughts making it easier to get to a single pointed meditation or sometimes samadhi. Lhamo sometimes can get into it ........most of the time cannot. It is not easy but is always a hope to get into it again.
Well.....I am not sure of the proper way to make vows but when I do them...... I make sure I fulfill and keep them. That I know is the correct and proper way. Well.........till I add more ! :)))))
