How to choose your Si Fu ? By 玉如 （法名）

On 4 May 2019, I "qui yee" (take refuge) under Venerable Hong Bok. I said to myself, better not chant "Ah Mi To Fo" so loud wait Sifu can hear very loudly.... pai seh lah. I think that was what made Sifu smiled  :)))))

How to choose your Si Fu ?

I think it was in year 2017 that I started attending Venerable Hong Bok's lecture on the Shurangama Sutra in English in Singapore. It was a two day event......if I am not mistaken and I usually attend the Saturday class and skip Sunday class and attended the english one only. Cause on Sunday, I had to go for work.........So you can see that I am not quite an obedient person or shall I say.......a very stubborn person. So when you tell me that you are very stubborn.......I can UNDERSTAND !!!   ;)))))

Then in year 2018..........also a couple of talks here and there.......and there was a weekend one in Dec/Jan 2019. This one, I wanted to attend but I had my hands full and my work schedule also full plus my coming PREDICTIONS 2019 Talks. So I had to skip this too.

These are usually our karma that prevents us from attending the Dharma talks. I know and can accept. 

During the Dharma talks on one evening occasion.....while I was listening to Sifu explanation on the topic......then I suddenly chant :"Ah Mi Tio Fo" silently in  my mind because I haven't been doing so for quite a while ...... Then suddenly Sifu, Venerable Hong Bok suddenly looked at me !!! I was startled but then decided not to chant silently in my mind because Sifu can READ !!!!

However after 15 mins, I decided to test him : I quite naughty one.......so I silently chant :"Ah Mi Tio Fo" again. This time, he did not even glanced at me but continue talking. Usually Sifu would just talk and talk and never once look at me. I also try to hide my face among the crowd. Until one day when I missed one class then next day I came for class.......the lady who sat in front of me asked : Are you a fengshui master ?"

I was surprised and I cannot tell lies.....so I had to say :"yes" and then I asked :"How did you know ?" then she said yesterday they were talking about you......that's how she got to know that I am a fengshui master ;))))

I went like : Err....ok so they all know liao lah. Never mind.....sooner or later sure to know who I am one mah.

This was the first instant when I knew that hei ! This Sifu can read my mind !!! How did he do it ? and why and how ?

I meditated for an answer : Then I discovered that it was because his mind is so STILL and CLEAR and PURE (he was using his TRUE MIND)  so that whatever we think......he can READ !!!

But there are so many of us here that evening.......or maybe because I sat at the second row of his left side. Nearer to him...so he can READ. Then it finally dawn on me that : because my mind was also STILL and clear. So when I chant silently only ah  ..... "Ah Mi Tio Fo" it sounded very loud to him !!!

This was at the back of my mind and no one in class knew. Only me.

.......Then came the May talks : 

We were told not to do any recording...... when I read that WhatsApp message I was very upset. Because I like to listen to Sifu's talks and replay them especially those in mandarin. Sometimes when I listen the second time, then I can catch the meaning and then I understood.

So that evening before the talk began, our Organiser again spoke up and said Sifu said no voice recording !!! This was a signal to me that this Sifu can capture my mind !!! : this is because the night before the talk, I meditated and cried..... why Sifu don't allow me to voice record.

I only use for my own use mah. also cannot. why ? I know must cry one so that the energy is strong enough to reach to Sifu who I know is already in Singapore. So he should be able to pick up the signal. hehe

That day came - it was evening time at the Geylang area. Sifu arrived.... but his computer wouldn't start and then his microphone wouldn't start either. I was "laughing" in my mind. See lah....you don't allow me to do voice recording so now....you cannot speak liao. Then I tell my mind. Ok lah....don't play already......I want to listen to Sifu's talk now.....then the microphone worked !!!

This is the second time I felt that this Sifu could read my mind and a very interesting one. it was during my meditation when I try to communicate to him. A thought occur to me too : what will happen if Sifu try to tell me something ??? 

Then came for the "Qui Yee" time : we all went through the whole process. My body was aching but now much better as I went for treatment. But during that session........I was sweating a lot and so was Sifu because the Sun's Rays shone right in and at one part of the session....the Sun's rays shine very very brightly and I knew Buddha is here. I could catch a twinkle in Sifu's eyes as he was reading the "Qui Yee"......text when the Sun shines IN to the room !!!!

That day went very well and I had my private session with Sifu Venerable Hong Bok. I try to keep it short to allow others to have time with him. So when I walked into the room.....for the first time, Sifu's eyes met mine for the first time so closely......and he smiled happily. 

I was wondering why he was so happy. Later I meditated and realised that maybe he saw spirits or my angels following me into the room. I just "qui yee" so that means officially I have 5 x 5 angels around me.

We are not alone in a room .....as Sifu is very particular about this and would request another male inside the room while I talked to Sifu about my progress in cultivation. I only shared a bit with him because I dont know how to explain what I am going through......and I planned to share with him more the next time when I have a session with him.

This was 4 May 2019. .....then on 5 May 2019, I skipped class. I didn't want to ...but because my family was going to celebrate Mother's Day lunch. I cannot disappoint my parents and in my mind , I thought : without my parents, there would be no "Me". 

Sifu would understand right ? And then my son was having a booth at the Suntec Expo for the first time.....as a mum...I have to go and support him by buying something right ???? So I went. I went to his booth and told him : I want to buy everything. He went like HUH ? then he settled for some......I paid extra extra , told him to keep his big fat change and left. That's me, his mum.

The talks in May finally ended and we all were left to do our own cultivation. I stumbled upon Sifu's English Shurangama Sutra's talks in his Facebook and therefore I spent time doing "voice recording" loh........ and at the same time watching his videos on UKDSA and CDSA.

On Monday, 10 June 2019, after coming home from work and after watching two of these videos on UKDSA and CDSA .......I fell asleep and later when I woke up : I saw Sifu face smiling at me !!!!

I was like : huh ??? 

Shurangama Sutra can bring a lot of demons to appear. I am not sure if this one was a demon or not. or was Sifu trying to tell me something ???? maybe there would be a part 2 ??? Let's see......

Anyhow.......once I won over one Demon, I was rewarded with the "zzzzz'  SOUND in my ears.   I heard that this is called "Shurangama Samadi". It means all 6 senses are closed for all have entered the stream. Usually one sense organ close first then wait for the other 5 sense organs to close. There is a time frame for this and is up to individual.

Now.............I quite scared to lose it so I shall guide my path properly and do everything right since now  I  ALREADY ENTERED THE PATH.

I do not wish to be at the door of the hall. I am now in the middle of the hall........

CONCLUSION: I share my private life with you and what goes on recently in my life and how to choose a Sifu. This is why I think this Sifu is suitable for me. Because he can READ my mind. One day......I hope you can find your SIFU too and "qui yee" But I was told he may not be my only Sifu as I travelled the path of The Avatamsaka Sutra.
