"Tracing the steps to how I got to know about Jian Hui Fa Sze" 

A "THOUGHT" came to me this week.....it was asking me how I got to know of Jian Hui Fa Sze and her Dharma Teachings.

Then...........I began to look at the old photos or old YouTube file and a photo capture it all ! This triggered many memories.

I started going full vegetarian in June 2016 mainly because my mum's health is not so good and she had to undergo an 8 or 10 hour operation at the age of 80++. That moment I swear and made a vow that I will go full vegetarian for the rest of my life and the merits go to 3 things and one of which is for my mum's good health.

Fast track to 3 years later now ..... ....2019, she is ok and can walk with the aid of a walking stick. Before that she was on wheel chair and everything was very difficult for her.

So after I went full time vegetarian........my buddhist faith grew and many Sutras that were meant for me to know or SiFU would appear in front of me.

At first, I was reciting "Tee Chan Chin".........and reading and reciting it out loud and dedicating merits to every one. Then I discover my current Sifu, Venerable Hong Bok and attended his class here in Singapore. When he teaches in KL, I could. not go as I need to work to pay for bills/loans as I have 3 properties all in my name and a BMW 5 Series to pay. Very heavy..........right ? But Buddhism help me. I learnt to let them go. 

Now, planing for all fully paid and no loans and no debts. coming soon..........release one and all debt free.........the question was : which one I can let it go. It wasn't an easy one but I did it. Tell you more ....later.

Coming back to SiFu. So I also decided maybe it was year 2017 that when I come home from work, no TV and so no more hokkien serials.......no more Korean love stories and no more cantonese TVB shows that I like to watch.

It can be done. My will was very strong. I did it. so then I had a lot of free hours to surf internet and watch YOUTUBE all the Dharma series. So I watch all "Tee Chang Chin" first by all different Sifu....then I watch The Plaform Sutra and then Shuranagam Sutra finished already...The Lotus Sutra and then started The Avatamsaka Sutra.

I usually would subscribe to anyone in Youtube who had a huge playlist of those dharma talks by the Sifu that I like to watch. So I accidentally happen to subscribe to a guy by the name of Mr Chen from Taiwan. I can only read his sirname in chinese, his two other chinese names, I don't know and at that time did not bother to check chinese dictionary. Because I do not need to know him mah. So I continued to watch Jian Hui Fa Sze explain The Platform Sutra in 2017. 

Then one fine day, I saw a flyer (the one above) that showed Jian Hui Fa Sze was in Singapore to teach in. 2018. I had just missed the date by a few months. I was quite disappointed at first but then I saw the Singapore Contact, Susan Chan. 

So I sent her a WhatsApp  and made the connection. At that time they were busy reciting the Avatamasaka Sutra and she introduced me to Jian Hui Fa Sze Facebook page which I immediately added her as friend. hehe.....much later then she responded and added me back. 

So now we are Facebook friends and she would go "live" in her talks every Monday and Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. I would patiently wait for it to start then type "Ah Mi Tuo Fo ".

One day a lady from my Facebook page also wanted to recite The Avatamsaka Sutra so she WhatsApp me and I gave her Susan Chan's contact number and then she got a copy and she did one step more than me. She flew to Taiwan to attend Jian Hui Fa Sze's evening Dharma Talk more than me. 

Her zest for dharma is more than me. I guess I couldn't because I still had loans to pay, 3 properties all in my name. Siong...one you know.

Now........I can breath already and can fly anywhere in the world liao ;))))

Then during one of Jian Hui Fa Sze's dharma talk, this lady mentioned my name. She said she saw how when I recited the Avatamsaka Sutra, my face had this glow and she also wanted to have that glow so she sponsored a set of the chinese Avatamsaka Sutra. In total, she mentioned my name twice in Jian Hui Fa Sze's Dharma Class in Taiwan. .....and I haven't even step into Kao Siong to attend the dharma talk in Taiwan. People there already know me leh......pai seh. 

Then Susan told me Jian Hui Fa Sze coming to Singapore on 1st and 2nd June 2019. I immediately block my schedule - no work on these two days. cannot. Because I wish to form a connection with this Sifu who can teach Shurangama Sutra so well ........that even me as an English educated Singaporean can understand speaks volumes about her teaching skills and ability.

So I waited patiently and the days passed and in June last month, I gave her an ang pow and also all those who followed her on this trip, the nuns. I didn't give the Director Chen anything....pai seh. And I didn't know it was him who had uploaded all of Jian Hui Fa Sze dharma talks to his Youtube account so that many others can benefit. Jian Hui Fa Sze asked him to speak then I know. Oh this is the person......;))))

His kindness.........enabled me to watch countless hours of Jian Hui Fa Sze talks that I am now following on The Avatamasaka Sutra as this Sutra is a huge Sutra and not easy for anyone to understand...... unless got Sifu teach, right ?

So I also found two Sifu who spoke of this : One is Hui Li Fa Sze, the other is Hai Yun Fa Sze. Both of these Sifu teachings I can understand and learn some thing about Dharma. Most of my Dharma knowledge comes from Youtube but the spiritual and awakening ones come from practical life.....and in every day life.

To Conclude : In Buddhism, we learn to know how to respect others and to be grateful. Here .......I wish to send Thanks to Chen Hung-Cheng for that Youtube account that got me hooked to Jian Hui Fa Sze teachings. 

I also wish to thank Chen Hung-Cheng,  Director of "Following The Avatamsaka Sutra On A Journey"  for leading me to get to know Jian Hui Fa Sze in person. Without his hard work into the wee hours of the morning to upload all the series.........I would not be so fortunate as to listen to such wonderful Dharma talks. 

Thank you, Hung Cheng......(I finally checked chinese dictionary on how to pronounce the second and third chinese name) (hehe).......and thank you, Jian Hui Fa Sze. We already made the connection in this life time and this is just the beginning.........
