The Diamond Sutra - 4 lines

Today is 12 July 2017- Hi…Today is Guan Yin's Birthday and hence naturally I do hope that many of you will go full vegetarian on this day while for me I took the "8 Mahayana Precepts" yesterday to cleanse myself  and to create even more merits. I meditated in the early hours of 0332 to 0502.

I like to keep a record of my meditation practice as I am someone who likes to break my own record. It gives me the motivation and passion to do it. Although I know that we cannot become too attached to it…….The more merits created can help me gain enlightenment faster.

I believe that we only have this lifetime to use our body to quickly attain Buddhahood so as to benefit sentient beings.

Thank you to some clients who whatsapp saying that my energy looks bright and that I am "looking good". My reply to them was : I was on one year of full vegetarian…..  :)

On Meditation : A few people came to see me recently either for destiny readings or for personal reviews and many of them said they read my blog especially the one about "meditating" and one  guy said he would go back and try "the lying down meditation before bed"….hehe

I hope he succeeded in his meditation and as well as finding it a good source for helping people to sleep.

The Diamond Sutra

On The Diamond Sutra : Today, I am going to write four lines from The Diamond Sutra:

"Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lighting in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream"

My humble interpretation at the moment : At the present moment , my level of understanding of these 4 lines are quite limited and hence can only say that :

We see the star, the bubble or the lamp through our "deluded mind"
and everything that we see through our "deluded mind" are all phenomena.

When we meditate, we can use The Diamond Sutra to cut off all wondering thoughts till there were none or very little. Then we can find our true mind.
The Buddha is in our true mind. Hence, the Buddha is within us.
When we can achieve our true Buddha nature,  we are awakened.

The Diamond Sutra can help us get fully awakened.

Hence, I am also continuously reading up on The Platform Sutra of Hui Neng in order to understand to learn more.

These four lines are taken from the book below :

On the Platform Sutra of Hui Neng :
The Platform Sutra says :

"The moment your own original nature is lost, you become an average worldling.

The moment your own original nature is awakened, you become a Buddha"

Taken from : The Wisdom of Hui Neng , edited and translated by Chu Dongwei

I have yet to buy this book hence I cannot show you a photo of the book. But isn't it interesting ?

There are many versions of the Sutra of Hui Neng. So far…I only have the version above but I do read other free samples ebooks on this Platform Sutra of Hui Neng to understand this better. Till…I buy my next book !
